This limited-term committee provides feedback to staff on priorities and strategies for all downtown initiatives to meet the goals of the Downtown Specific Plan; makes recommendations to the City Council as needed; provides a forum for general public input on the Downtown; and shares informational updates with their respective Boards. Once established, the Committee will begin transitioning into a Downtown Association of local businesses.

Board Information

The Downtown Revitalization Committee meets monthly at various locations. Please see the agenda for the specific location per meeting.

Members serve terms of two years.  One member each is appointed from the Recreation & Park Commission and Planning Commission, and two members are appointed from the City Council.  Members are appointed by the Mayor and ratified by the City Council.

City Council Members and Planning Commissioners are officers identified in Government Code Section 87200 and file Statements of Economic Interests with full disclosure of personal assets, income, and business interests. These filings are submitted electronically from an account established by the Clerk's Office.  Copies of the Statements of Economic Interests filed by City Council Members and Planning Commissioners may be obtained by visiting the offices of the Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC) or the Clerk's Office. The physical address of the FPPC is 428 J Street, Suite 620, Sacramento, California 95814. The physical address of the Clerk's Office is 110 E. Cook Street, Santa Maria, CA 93454. The Statements of Economic Interests (Form 700) for some state and local government agency elected officers may be available in electronic format on the FPPC's website at https://www.fppc.ca.gov/.

Additionally, Recreation & Parks Commissioners are required to file Statements of Economic Interests pursuant to the City of Santa Maria's Conflict of Interest Code with full disclosure. All Statements of Economic Interests (Form 700) are required to be filed online upon assuming and leaving office, and annually. All filings are available for public inspection upon request.  The City Clerk's Office will set up the account and be the point of contact.  For additional information, contact the Clerk's Office via email at cityclerk@cityofsantamaria.org.

AB 1234 Ethics Training (every 2 years) - All members of City of Santa Maria Boards/Commissions/Committees and Elected Officials are required to complete a training for AB 1234 Ethics Training every two (2) years. This training may be accomplished online through a training portal provided by the Human Resources and Clerk's Office staff. 

Anti-Harassment Training (every 2 years) - All members of City of Santa Maria Boards/Commissions/Committees and Elected Officials are required to complete a training for Anti-Harassment Training every two (2) years. This training may be accomplished online through a training portal provided by the Human Resources and Clerk's Office staff.
